Relentless research develops into paintings for AS Art & Design students.

AS Art & Design students have spent the term relentlessly researching into a variety of portrait based artists (AO3), and producing sketchbook pages that truly demonstrate the progress they have made since starting their studies in September (AO1).

They have explored a wide range of drawing & painting media & techniques, from traditional observational drawing, to mono printing, drawing with wire, stitch based studies etc (AO2).
Over the more recent weeks they have been completing a range of little photo shoots to explore suitable images to drive & inspire their self portrait painting (AO1, AO3).  Some of the documentations that have been recorded in their sketchbooks have been of a fabulous standard.

Most students have started small test paintings (AO1, AO2, AO4), exploring a range of compositions, paintings styles and more importantly building their confidence before attempting their large scale portrait paintings.

The next few weeks will reveal more small test portraits that these talent & hard working students have completed.  Several have started their large portraits & I will endeavour to record their progress for you to see.
